About SEAP  
With Pune emerging as a strong contender for providing Software Technology in India, setting up and running software business has become comparatively very simple in the city. This has been furthered bolstered and streamlined with the help of the Government of India and the STP. However, there are still some minor or major IT related issues that do crop up once in a while that need to be addressed by the specific authorities.

This is where SEAP comes in – consisting of large to small business houses, it aims to foster better interaction among Software Export units in Pune and play a very important role for its member companies. Various problems faced by any company can be addressed to SEAP and help comes readily from within the other member companies. Any problem is resolved by suggestions and solutions coming from other companies having faced the similar problem. SEAP acts like a large pool of resources, which other members can easily access to find the right solution

SEAP also acts as a single body representative for the software companies and puts forth its proposals and demands for larger IT related issues with the concerned authorities. It has also received positive response from various authorities regarding its role. Representing various problems as a single body helps them to clearly understand the problems that are faced and provide a quick and reasonable solution. It endeavors to work for the betterment of its member exporters by providing various services (viz. communication, commercial or financial help) that are beneficial to them and guiding them in Export-related activities through proper training programs, meetings, seminars, and lectures.

Although SEAP was formed with the idea of resolving various problems faced by the software companies with the local authorities, with the passage of time, it has become necessary to extend its role. SEAP now intends to provide an umbrella under which various technical and marketing issues can also be discussed along with a learning opportunity provided within the member companies. SEAP also does philanthropic work by establishing scholarships, grants, rewards and prizes to encourage the study of industrial, commercial, scientific and technical knowledge in development & trade of software, both in India and abroad.

SEAP intends to promote itself and its activities to the outside world (both within and outside the country) and attract attention in order to boost the software business from within the Pune region. In order to achieve this, SEAP plans to publish and distribute material necessary for the promotion of its existence and objectives.

Finally SEAP also endeavors to increase employee interaction within the member companies by organizing various sports events, cultural and extra curricular activities whereby a healthy competition between the various companies can be maintained.
